My Week In Movies - May Wrap Up

The Boys & Girls Guide To Getting Down (2007) Ya gotta love a movie with a gimmick and this one's got a nice one: a movie about partying and hooking up done in the style of a Discovery Channel-esque documentary. It's pretty funny when they take a look at the training that goes into becoming a bouncer or when they discuss the power that hot girls have over the universe. For those of us who don't party in those types of circles, it's also interesting to find out all the various uses of all the different recreational drugs that are out there. A unique little movie worth taking a look at for some good lighthearted fun.

I Am Comic (2010) An actual documentary, this one is about stand up comedy. It's pretty much just a little bit about everything there is to know about the profession, dissecting the art form from various angles. There are interviews with 100+ comedians from big headliners like Tim Allen and Kathy Griffin to folks you've never heard of working the open mic circuits. It's a very interesting look behind the scenes and into the minds of the world of comedy.

Both these films are available on Netflix Instant.
