Good Bye Old Friend (New Car Post)

We bought a new (used) car, a 2015 Town & Country Touring with 39K miles on it. Our last car had served us very well and we were all sad to let her go. This blog entry isn't to show off our new vehicle but is mostly just for personal reference so we can remember our beloved car, "Monorail Red".

Monorail Red was a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. We bought her in 2008 with 13K miles and she was relatively low maintenance for most of the time we had her. She took us to Florida at least 8 times. We drove her to Maine. She took us across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge on our way to Ocean City dozens upon dozens of times! There were countless trips to Dutch Wonderland and Hersheypark, not to mention numerous roundtrips to Columbia, MD to visit my mom.
The automatic door on the drivers side stopped working in 2016. The reverse beeper stopped working at one point, only to mysteriously start working again years later. The front was dented and rusted from hitting a deer. The car whistled over 60MPH, the felt on the ceiling was starting to droop, the pop out cupholders were broken and one of the front seats was held together with duct tape...but we loved that car! We spent a lot of time in it! We got it when Elias was 5 1/2, Tanner was 2 and it's the only family car London has known.

There was also a carefully curated collection of stickers on the inside, in places most adults don't put stickers.

For the last 5 months we had the car, the display readout constantly said "Service Tire System Soon" even though I got all new tires and the garage assured us nothing was wrong.
London, sad to see the car go, right before we officially traded it in.

Thank You For Your Service Monorail Red
