Christmas television programing continues to gain popularity with each passing year. What used to be a few prime time specials every December has turned into 24 hour Christmas movie channels, marathons of Christmas Specials and Christmas episodes and more and more new original Christmas content making it to our screens each year. It's a great time to be a Christmas TV fanatic. Christmas themed episodes of beloved television series have become just as much a part of some people's holiday viewing traditions as Rudolph and Charlie Brown. There are several DVD compilations of vintage Christmas episodes and of course the closer we get to Christmas, the more you see jolly episodes of reruns airing. A great place to find loads of Christmas from television's past is Netflix - which features not only the latest "binge-worthy" trending series but plenty of goodies from the last several decades.

We've scoured the merriest corners of Netflix to compile a fairly comprehensive list of Christmas Time Episodes from a variety of series. It's a Spiceworld After All

As you've probably heard by now, pop group The Spice Girls made international happy news yesterday by announcing that they were getting back together and going on tour! One word for ya: SWEET. Let me tell ya why I love The Spice Girls. First, they are silly and goofy and they know it and they are just out to have fun with their music. Second, they put out two CD's of pure upbeat happy pop music at a time when the whole record industry was putting out dark, depressing grunge music. They brought fun back to music! Third, they made one of the greatest films of all time SPICEWORLD. Number four, there was a ton of silly merchandising out featuring the girls including dolls, action figures, stickers, candy....you name it and there was a Spice Girls version of it.

The Spice Girls 11-city tour brings them to the U.S. for three shows. They will be in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York in early December 2007. I'm already working on getting tickets to one of the cities shows. (If your interested in the journey, let me know!)

I saw The Spice Girls live in the summer of 1998. If you want, you can read all about it on a web page I made nine years ago for no particular reason.

Snoopy's Choice

This picture shows a number of grocery store items that Snoopy and the Peanuts gang have appeared on all over the world. There's peanut butter from Australia, Cola from England and even corn snacks from Japan. But right smack dab in the middle of all this international goodwill is a little product fondly remembered as Snoopy's Choice Frozen Dinners! Few things go together as well as a tiny TV Dinner and a free Peanuts sticker! These tasty meals hit grocery store freezers around the time I was 17, however that didn't stop me from stocking the freezer with them every chance I got. Jeez, I'm such a sucker for products with cartoon characters on them! I was a huge fan of TV Dinners when I was younger, but these Snoopy meals which were probably aimed at grade school children had less than 1/3 the food a Swanson HungryMan dinner had. But really, in the end, isn't a free Snoopy sticker all you need to fill your tummy...and your heart!?!?

It's rare that my memory banks can stump the Internet, but I wasn't able to find a single image of these Snoopy's Choice meals anywhere online. There is barely a mention that the food ever existed! I was able to find this picture in a book called Peanuts The Home Collection: A Collector's Guide to Identification and Value. I tried to zoom in on the Snoopy's Choice products, but I'm no William Randolph Hearst when it comes to the ol' scanner and Photoshop and all the stuff! My zoom in here on the left offers nothing more than a larger, grainier look at Snoopy pointing to some unrecognizable food. For a really good tie-in, the microwavable food should have come in little red dog dishes! That would have made it all even cooler!
