When I was younger, one movie that I used to watch over and over again was Clash of the Titans. Hey look! There's a new version coming to theatres this weekend:

Vintage Cereal: Inside and Out

We like to think of ourselves as big cereal fans here at WWoB. And of course, we love all things old school. So, we were pretty excited to get a heads up on these new...or should I say old, cereal box designs that General Mills is rolling out exclusively at Target this month. They are indeed pretty cool and a extra warm, fuzzy way to start off any day. We didn't receive much information beyond the time and place, but the picture provided above does indicate that they are also throwing in some retro prizes inside these specially marked packages! The cereal premium has been a dying art form for many years and perhaps General Mills is on to something that some good ol' fashioned free prizes might jump start sales a bit!

I'm very anxious to see what goodies are in store with a box of Cheerios. Besides the fact that I've pretty much regulated my daily morning diet to a bowl of Cheerios and some yogurt, the Cheerios box features their one-time spokesmoose Bullwinkle J. Moose! Bullwinkle used to appear in commercials for the cereal as well as make often appearances on their box. A Bullwinkle themed prize would be the cat's meow...don't you think.

You'll also notice on the Honey Nut Cheerios box there is an Atari 2600, the greatest video game system of all time. My Internet research indicates that it's actually the new Atari Flashback 2 which is pictured. It's a new Plug n' Play system that duplicates the look and feel of the old Atari with 40 games programmed into it. Honey Nut Cheerios is running a contest where you can win one of these old school retro Ataris as well as a pretty neat looking Atari prize pack. Keep your eyes open for details on that!

Another interesting sidenote that I discovered about these boxes...while the art work and design is retro, by law the photographs of the actual product on the box must be up to date. So you might be looking at the 1950's Trix Rabbit, but he's eating a bowl of 2010 cereal. As long as the cereal inside isn't from 1950...it's all good!

See A Free Movie Tonight

The only thing better than a good movie is a free good movie! That's why we're pretty excited to partner up with General Mills Cereal to give you a chance to see a movie...in the theater...for free! Actually, there's two ways you can catch a movie for free. Inside specially marked packages of General Mills’ Cereals you'll find a code. When you enter two codes into the General Mills website, you'll be able to print a free movie certificate good for admission to any movie. Pretty sweet, eh!? You know General Mills cereals...Honey Nut Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, Trix and my personal favorite Reese’s Peanut Butter Puffs.

Here's another way you can get your mitts on some free movie tix. Fred Flintstone and George Clooney Want to Come To Your House

Any good blog worth it's weight in rocks nowadays has a giveaway of some sort to thank it's readers for stopping by. WWoB is proud to announce a contest that will put a few extra titles into your DVD library. And not just any DVD, but we're happy to share our favorite prehistoric cartoon family with you. We'll be giving away a copy of the 5 DVD set Warner Home Video Premiere Episodes Vol. 1! Five first episodes of television series, classic and modern, come packaged together for a trip down memory lane on the house courtesy of Wonderful World of Blog. There's "The Flintstone Flyer"; the first episode of The Flintstones to air in 1960. The set also includes another comedy classic from the same era, Gilligan's Island - the first episode was an hour long and filmed in black in white. There's also the feature-length first episode of ER and two more favorites. That's almost five hours of quality television entertainment!

So, what's the rub? All you have to do to win this collection of great television is enter our super simple Flintstone Celebrity Contest. If you remember on The Flintstones, real-life celebrities would often appear on the show but their names were "Flintstone-ized", for example the most famous guest appearance was Ann-Margret who danced with Fred and Barney as Ann-Margrock. Ed Sullivan became Ed Sullystone, Cary Grant was Cary Granite, Michael Jackson even appeared on a late 80's episode of Flintstone Kids as Michael Jackstone. All you have to do is zap WWoB an e-mail or leave a comment with a Flintstone name for a modern day celebrity. It can be anyone from entertainment, politics, sports...anywhere!

Screen Capture Contest

Here's something a little different for ya that I've been wanting to do for a while....a contest! Below you will find five screen captures from five different movies that I love. All you have to do is send me an e-mail with your guesses for the five movies. All entries must be received by midnight EST September 30, 2007. The entry with the most correct answers will win a prize. In the event of a tie, a random drawling will be held to determine the winner.

This isn't easy, and there is no rhyme or reason as to the movies I picked, I just thought they'd make funny screen caps. Good Luck!
