edTunes - I Wanna Go
I love this Britney song, it's been getting heavy rotation on my iPod. I just saw the video for the first time yesterday and it's really good. First of all, it has a great sense of humor that most music videos don't dare have. She's got some comedy chops. Second, it doesn't hurt that Brit-Brit looks fantastic in it!

edTunes - Time Warp
In my opinion, the first half hour or so of The Rocky Horror Picture Show is pretty brilliant and then the rest of the film is a gosh-awful mess of a waste of time. I do love this song though. I made sure this was a staple at every high school dance my senior year...

edTunes - Polka Face
I haven't cared much for "Weird Al's" recent animated videos as they just seem to simply illustrate the lyrics of the song but the new video for his polka medley "Polka Face" is really neat. There's a bunch of visual styles on display, plus there is visual humor independent of the song.
"Weird Al" Yankovic's new concert film debuts this weekend on Comedy Central.

edTunes - Party Rock Anthem
My wife LOVES this song right now. I think it's ok, but the video is crazy fun! This video is so much old school goodness it reminds me of the hours I killed in my youth watching stuff like this on MTV all day.

edTunes - Super Bass
Three things:
1) I don't want to like this song, but I do.
2) This video has way too many close ups of shirtless men for me.
3) At no point in this song do I have any idea what she is saying.

edTunes - Blow
This video for Ke$ha's Blow is strange and weird like so many other music videos are, but it's also got some really funny stuff in it. Check it out as Ke$h does battle with Dawson himself, James Van Der Beek...

edTunes - Wannabe
I loves me some Spice Girls. And I loves me some Spice World, the girl's big movie adventure. You might watch this clip of the girls Spice performing their hit Wannabe in their movie Spice World and think it just doesn't make any sense out of context with the rest of the film. The beautiful thing is: this scene doesn't make any more sense tucked into the rest of the motion picture that wraps around it! And that's the magical beauty of the Spice Girls!

edTunes: Volcano
Continuing my roll out of my 5 favorite musical acts, I loves me some Jimmy Buffet! How can you not dig the philosophy of J.B. of laying on the beach, sipping on a big fruity drink and just taking it easy. I played alot of Jimmy Buffet when I DJ'ed on my college radio station. Every Friday morning we would announce the "Countdown to Happy Hour" and play my favorite Buffet song, "Volcano". There's alot of great song from Jimmy Buffet and everybody has their favorite, but I gotta say Volcano is mine. Here's Jimmy Buffet and his Coral Reefer Band performing the song on Fridays - an ABC sketch comedy show from the early 80's. This performance aired May 8, 1981.

edTunes: Shake Your Love
This is my all-time favorite song which also happens to be from my all-time favorite singer. In my high school years, while the rest of the school was into The Cure, Guns and Roses, Depeche Mode or Metallica little ol' me was off on my own listening to Debbie Gibson. My first real celebrity crush. This song never fails to cheer me up!

The Launch of edTunes: The Gambler
Believe it or not, I put alot of thought into this blog. I've been wanting to start a new department spotlighting music but I was having trouble deciding what song I should kick off with. Finally I came to the conclusion that it really didn't matter, just get the darn thing started so today we present our newest feature: edTunes. (See, it's kind of like iTunes, but I replaced the letter I with my name.) This new feature will spotlight music from a couple of different angles. We will have music from favorite artists of mine, songs that I want to spotlight or that I just might have in my head and we'll take a look at some odd and rare clips. Sometimes it will be the video that we're looking at, other times it will just really be the song we want to pay attention to. Either way, most of the clips will be from YouTube so there will always be something to look at. Maybe I'll figure out how to put iTunes links on here so you can load up your iPod with great songs like mine!First up, is one of my all-time favorite songs The Gambler, by rotisserie chicken guru The Gamber himself - Kenny Rogers. I loves me some Kenny Rogers. I've had the fortune to see him perform live twice and it's always a treat. The man knows how to entertain a crowd without breaking a sweat! The performance we're going to take a look at today is from a 1979 fourth season episode of The Muppet Show.
